| Public toilet locked at tehsil complex Mendhar, people suffer | | |

Poonch, Nov 6: The public toilet at tehsil complex in Mendhar sub division of Poonch district has been kept locked for the last several months.
Local residents told Early Times that the administration and Rural Development Department (RDD) locked the toilet without assigning any reasons. “Hundreds of people, including women, visit this office daily. Due to public toilet remaining closed they face immense difficulties,” said a resident Bashir Ahmed.
“If this toilet complex was built for public use then why has it been locked?” asked another resident Mohammad Aslam.
This toilet complex was constructed by the Rural Development Department, under Panchayati Raj scheme for the public convenience but it’s not serving the purpose it was built for. “We urge the district administration to take note of the problems being faced by people and get this public facility unlocked,” locals said. |
