| Mendhar students stage protest against district administration, MVD Poonch | | |  Early Times Report
POONCH, Nov 24: Students staged a massive protest demonstration against Motor Vehicle department (MVD) and Poonch administration and urged for fixation of fare as per norms.
The demonstrators raised slogans for justice and later speaking with media said that the MVD has already issued wring fare list, because the distance from Mendhar to Harni is seven kilometers whereas department has mentioned it as nine kilometers and fixed fare of nine km journey. The demonstrators alleged that the transporters were looting student fraternity who are not able to pay huge amount of fare.
They said that a meeting of Mendhar administration and students took place in Mendhar where administrative officials assured to give concession to students but on very evening after meeting students got some calls of threats and on very next day when students sat in vehicles transporters abused on them. |
