| SOTTO organizes blood donation camp, other activities | | |

JAMMU, Nov 24: State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO) J&K on its third day of celebrating 12th national organ donation week organized a blood donation camp at Maternity Hospital, Gandhi Nagar, and a poster & Rangoli making competition at super specialty hospital here today.
50 people including the Medical Superintendent, MCH Dr. Arun Sharma donated blood in the blood donation camp.
The main purpose of today’s event was to convey the message to the general public that you can donate blood while you are alive and organs after death to save lives. Dr. Arun thanked the HOD Blood Transfusion Medicine and her team for this noble cause.
On the other hand, students from various paramedical colleges participated in the event.
They creatively gave a message of organ donation through their art. They motivate others to pledge and donate their organs after brain death. In Rangoli making competition, Stephens College of Nursing, Miran Sahib secured first position, Bee Enn Institute of Nursing and Government Nursing College Gandhi Nagar secured second and third position respectively.
In Poster making competition, Manpreet Kaur from Bee Enn institute of Nursing secured first position, Azhar Zahoor from Stephens College of Nursing and Shabnam from Government College of Nursing, Gandhi Nagar secured second and third position respectively. |
