Fortis organizes COVID heart camp | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 26: A COVID Heart Camp was organized by Fortis Hospital Amritsar at OPD Center Trikuta Nagar Jammu in which Dr Deepak Kapila, Director Cardiology, Fortis Hospital, Amritsar examined Several Patients Who had Suffered From Post COVID Effects in which they are Facing Cardiac Issues. Giving Details during the camp, Dr Deepak Kapila said that COVID Effects whole body especially heart, brain and kidneys, unfortunately patients keep on having symptoms regarding heart problems long after COVID fever has occurred called as Long COVID Syndrome. Patients complain of breathlessness, palpitations, chest pain long after COVID fever is over, sometimes after 3-6 months later. COVID affecting heart can weaken heart muscles causing myocarditis. It can lead to blood clots & heart attacks, Heart beat disorders called Arrhythmias. More than 70 patients we're seen and treated at Fortis OPD. It is a monthly OPD started especially after COVID to help patients suffering with deleterious effects of Covid on heart. |
