Court rejects bail plea in ATM scam | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, Nov 26: Additional Sessions Judge Kathua, Kamlesh Pandit rejected the bail plea of Shanker in ATM card scam. According to the prosecution the accused is involved in very heinous offences and belongs to interstate gang of preparing ATM cards for withdrawal of money from different banks and from his possession 15 ATM cards of different banks have been recovered and investigation is still in progress. It has been further pleaded that enlargement of the accused at this stage would cause dent in the ongoing investigation. Additional Sessions Judge Kathua after hearing both the sides while dismissing the bail plea observed that the investigation in the case is still going on as the offences committed by the accused person are of wide ramifications and it appears that it is not the handiwork of the accused only to commit such heinous offence and appears to be an interstate gang which the police is trying to unravel. Bailing out such persons at the drop of the hat emboldens them to repeat the offences. The apprehension of the prosecution is genuine that once the accused is bailed out prematurely he would cause dent in the investigation and also will abscond. |
