JAMMU, Nov 26: Birla Open Minds International School Jammu organized a felicitation function in honour of Prof. Shiv Dutt Nirmohi who is known for his contribution in the field of Dogri Literature. The “Padamshree” awardee who has authored over 35 books has mostly related to language and culture of Jammu region. On receiving the prestigious award Prof. Nirmohi stated that he felt this honour is for the entire Dogra community.
It has infused a new spirit and strength in him for re-invigorating our proud literary and cultural heritage. His thrust has been on folk culture too. His writings in Dogri and Hindi cover a wide-range of subjects mostly related to religious places, cultural aspects like shrines, temples, historical forts and palaces. He has extensively toured rural and most remote areas in Jammu region to gather data and facts to base his writings. |
