NSUI burns effigy of Vice Chancellor, appeals LG to stop recruitment process in JU | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 13: National Students Union of India (NSUI) today staged a strong protest demonstration against the incumbent Vice Chancellor of Jammu University, Prof Manoj Kumar Dhar, accusing him of allegedly patronizing ‘blue eyed’ candidates for the post of Campus Development Officer. The protesters appealed to LG Manoj Sinha, who happens to be Chancellor of the Jammu University to ensure discontinuation of recruitment process in the varsity till the appointment of new Vice Chancellor. Agitated students also blocked the university road in support of their demands and alleged that despite the end of the tenure of Prof Dhar, he continues to allegedly adjust his people on plum posts. “Recently, the Lieutenant Governor has issued an order for the constitution of the Search Committee for the selection of a new Vice Chancellor. Despite this fact, incumbent VC is hell bent to adjust his yes man to the prime post of Campus Development Officer,” said Sunny Parihar, State President NSUI, who led the agitation.
