| Winter camp begins at GDC Kalakote | | |

Kalakote, Dec 13: NSS unit of GDC Kalakote in collaboration with Department of Environmental Sciences and EBSB in commemoration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav inaugurated 7-day special Winter Camp on Monday. The camp is being organized under the guidance of the Principal (GDC Kalakote) Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta. The inaugural session started by delivering of a speech by Prof Gupta about the relevance of NSS in the upliftment of the society and development of the rural areas. He also announced that the cash prize of Rs 1000, Rs 750, and Rs 500 will be given to the first, second and third place holders respectively after the completion of the camp on the basis of set criteria. The NSS Programme Officer Priyanka Kumari and other members of the NSS committee congratulated the volunteers for coming forward and taking active participation in the camp. The slogan writing competition was organized on the topic “Cleanliness of water bodies”. Vrinda Sharma, HOD Environmental Sciences highlighted the need of Clean and healthy Water. She also remarked that the clean healthy water is an ingredient for healthy life and throwing waste in the water bodies not only pollute it but also make survival of aquatic organisms difficult by releasing harmful substances into the water. Senior volunteers of NSS also shared their experiences with other volunteers of NSS. |
