3-day training program on smart teaching devices concludes

Udhampur, Dec 13: The 3-day hands on training of smart teaching devices concluded at Government Degree College here on Monday, a statement said.
It said the training workshop was organized by Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the College. Training was provided to faculty members from all departments of the college by faculty members from Department of Computer Applications and Department of English. The training itinerary included concepts of various forms of e-Content, its design and usage in the classroom, using open educational resources and other sources of high quality educational content, as well as usage of various types of smart devices as teaching aids, such as smart boards, interactive panels and projectors.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the college Prof Subhash Chander Sharma said that in the current educational paradigm, it was imperative that in addition to the chalk and talk method, using technological teaching tools such as interactive boards had become an important requisite for imparting effective teaching in the classroom.
He said that Govt Degree College Udhampur had procured and installed smart boards in almost all classrooms, as well as complete wireless networking across the college campus. He encouraged the faculty members to utilize the digital infrastructure available in the institution to its maximum utility.
In his concluding remarks, Prof Gurvinder Raj Verma, Convener IQAC thanked the principal of the college and hoped that the training workshop would benefit the faculty members in their academic endeavors. Those present in the event included Prof B L Thakur, Prof Romesh Atri, Prof Kamal Kishore, Prof Satish Kumar, Prof Samosh Kumar and Prof Imtiaz Shahid.
Technical assistance for the event was provided by Prof Shaji Khan and Prof Rakesh Kumar.
