| Corporator Pritam Singh passes resolution on complete ban of plastic in Jammu | | |

JAMMU, Dec 13: Corporator Pritam Singh passed a resolution in the general house meeting of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) regarding complete ban on plastic/polythene hand bags within the limits of JMC.
Speaking on the occasion, Pritam said that since the beginning of his tenure as a corporator, he has been noticing the nuisance caused by plastic in different forms.
He said that many times the drains and nallahs where choked because of plastic bags thrown in them, many animals died because of eating plastic, even many vendors use plastics under 50 microns which is non recyclable and non disposable and cause pollution.
Pritam said that after noticing all these things only one conclusion comes to mind that plastic bags are itself a nuisance and avoiding their use can help in so many ways.
The resolution was passed unanimously by the house for which Pritam thanked the House as it was a decision for the welfare of the future generations. |
