Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 13: A Delegation of Kashmiri Hindu Samaj has returned to Jammu after participating in Sheesh Marg Yatra from Kiratpur Sahib to Sri Anandpur Sahib in Punjab state. A large Jatha of Kashmiri Hindues, organised by Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra Jammu, reached Anandpur Sahib Punjab on 11th December to participate in the celebrations to commemorate the memory of the great sacrifice laid by Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, the ninth Sikh Guru, to uphold the dignity of religious freedom, before the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. His sacrifice is held in deep memory by the Kashmiri Pandits, as at the pleadings of Pandit Kripa Ram Dutt, the great Guru confronted Aurangzeb against the torture & forced conversion of the Hindus in the Kashmir valley.
The large Jatha, comprising of a vast diaspora of the Hindu community, paid their obeisance in the memory of the Guru at Shri Anandpur sahib. Welcoming the Nihang Jatha returning back from Shri Kirtpur Sahib, the Kashmiri pandits recounted the conditions under which the Governor of Kashmir, representing Aurangzeb, was subjecting the Hindu population to extreme cruelty & forced conversion. The Kashmiri Pandit community is indebted to the Sikh Panth and always feels emotionally connected to it. Responding to the warm & emotional participation of the KP, s in the programmes at Shri Anandpur Sahib, the Nihang Sants assured of their commitment in the tradition of their ninth Guru and reaffirmed of the bond between the two communities. Hriday Nath Pandita, senior trustee of Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra, on behalf of the Kashmiri Pandit community, paid gratitude to the ninth Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji at Kirtpur Gurdwara, Baghpat Gurdwara, Shaheed Bagh in Anandpur Sahib, Shri Har Gobind Ji Gurdwara, Kesh Garh Gurdwara and Sheeshganj Gurdwara for his great sacrifice. Dr. Maharaj Krishna Bharat and other community members who were leading the group, while speaking on behalf of the Kashmiri Hindu community in front of the descendants of Bhai Jaita ji, said that the way Pandit Kriparam Dutt ji appealed for protection of entire human race and Sanatan in front of Guru Tegh Bahadur in the same way, Pandit Kripa Ram’s descendants keep this appeal before the descendants of Bhai Jaita ji that there is a need to play a major role even in the present times.
Under the leadership of Chief Jathedar of Gurdwara shri Baba Bakala, Baba Baldev Singh (Misal Baba Jeevan Singh) Jathedar Makhan Singh of Sri Anandpur Sahib, Dasmesh Tarana Dal Chief Major Singh Sodhi (Nankana Sahib), , Gurdwara Tibba Sahib, and other Jathedars led this Yatra. Hundreds of Nihang Jathedars, Saad Sangat and Sarva Samaj participated in this yatra and assured all possible help to the suffering community.
