| NSS wing of SKUAST-J organizes drug abuse awareness programme | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 13: The NSS wing of SKUAST-Jammu under the guidance of Vice-Chancellor SKUAST-Jammu Prof. J P Sharma and Dean Students Welfare Prof. Rajesh Katoch organized a lecture on drug abuse for NSS students of faculty of agriculture.
Pallavi Singh Director of J&K Society for Promotion of Youth & Masses was the invited speaker.
On the outset Prof. Katoch welcomed the guest and faculty and threw light on the menace of drug abuse which is becoming a major social evil. Medical Officer Dr. Anil Gupta also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the significance of the awareness about drug abuse for the young NSS volunteers of SKUAST-Jammu.
Pallavi gave an impressive power point presentation on the topic, ‘Drug a Closure look and Preventive Measures’ and made the students aware about various drugs and intoxicants. She said that younger generation is prone to this menace nowadays.
In the presentation she stressed upon the students not to purchase over the counter medicine without prescription because that might lead to drug addiction in long run. She emphasized that young NSS volunteers can bring a change in the society by making aware the society about drug abuse and drug addiction. |
