PAGD doesn't have faith in democratic institutions, is disillusioned: Suri | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 20: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member Raman Suri today said that the way the leaders of People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) are behaving and are either boycotting the delimitation commission or showing disrespect towards it by undermining its credentials, speaks of the fact that it is a divided house that has no respect for democratic institutions. Referring to National Conference's participation in the Delimitation Commission meeting without any agenda and then PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti's criticism of the institution, Raman Suri said that this is how these political leaders had been making conflicting statements to mislead the masses and rule for their vested interests. Delimitation Commission is an independent institution working after meeting all the stakeholders in Jammu and Kashmir, but allegations of PDP that it is working on an agenda speaks of party's mental bankruptcy and novice attitude towards political system of the country and institutions working to upkeep the sanctity of democracy. He added that those criticizing the Delimitation Commission are challenging the autonomous status of these institutions and undermining democracy. He said that political parties like PDP and NC have already lost the confidence of masses, which is why their leaders and workers are deserting these parties. PAGD is nothing but just a group which speaks two different languages in Delhi and in Jammu and Kashmir. Suri said, the truth is that Article 370 is gone which these parties have accepted, and want to contest elections to grab power just for their vested interests. The sooner they will digest it, the better it is for both NC and PDP as well as the common people.
