| GDC Doongi organizes lecture on Family Planning | | |  Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Dec 20: Shaheed Ghanisham Govt. Degree College (GDC) Doongi organized an extension lecture under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav in which a large number of students and staff of the college participated and gave a patient listening throughout the programme. The programme was organized with the collaboration of the Department of Education, Prof Iqbal Rasool delivered a detailed lecture on the topic through power point presentation. He throws a flood of light on the importance of adopting family planning measures to avoid the harmful effects of population explosion.
Dr. Shamim Ahmed Azad, Principal of the college presided over the function. While addressing students he expressed his deep concern for the fast growing population of the country and world. He further said that there must be continuous awareness programmes on an individual basis to accept the small family norms by a wide range of advertising and educational efforts. He asked the audience to implement the family planning measures, restrict child marriages and educate the general masses about the same. The programme was compared by Prof. Zaheer Abass Zia head department of Economics and convener of the programme. |
