GDC Kunjwani celebrates International Human Solidarity Day

JAMMU, Dec 20: IQAC of GDC Kunjwani Jammu organized slogan writing and poetry writing competition on the occasion of "International Human Solidarity Day" to raise awareness about the importance of solidarity. The programme was presided over by Worthy Principal of the college, Prof. Hans Raj. On the occasion, he spoke at length about the importance of human solidarity that it is a tool for reducing inequality and social injustice in the world, and he also highlighted solidarity can be cultivated through education in our students and help to build better world.
Dr Arti Pandoh Gupta Convener IQAC presented a welcome address and highlighted that it is important to mutually share and respect for each other's diverse cultures, values and laws and to create a psychological sense of unity in diversity among different societies across the globe.The event also witnessed the participation of 30 students in slogan writing and poetry competition. In slogan writing Ist position was secured by Seeta Kumari of B.A. Vth semester, Second position was secured by Owais Mirza and Third position secured by Azmat Choudhary& Parteek Bali. In poetry writing competition Alina Shapoo B.A Semester-Vth, Mayuri Choudhary B.A semester-3rd were adjudged 1st and 2nd while the third position was shared by Sukanya Mahajan &Vanshika Gupta B.A semester-3rd& Ist respectively.
Dr. Savtanter Kour, Dr. Neeru Sharma & Dr. Rohini Jamwal were the judges for slogan writing competition. Judges of the Poetry recitation were Prof Shri Kant Sharma, Prof Shamshad Bibi, & Dr. Sajaad Iqbal Khan. The formal vote of thanks was presented by Prof Bushra Nizami, HOD, Sociology.
