Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 20: A five-day long trekking camp organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Zone Akhnoor concluded today at village Samah, Panchayat- Sungal Upper in Tehsil Akhnoor. The camp was organized under the chairmanship of Sukhdev Raj Sharma, District Youth Services & Sports Officer, Jammu and overall supervision of Tarsem Singh, Zonal Physical Education Officer Akhnoor. 130 students (Boys & Girls) drawn from different educational institutions of Zone Akhnoor took part in the camp. Manisha Devi, Sarpanch Panchayat-Sungal Upper was the chief guest on this occasion and Headmaster of GHS, Samah Ashok Kumar was the guest of honour. While interacting with the students Zonal Physical Education Officer, Akhnoor urged them to take advantage of the trip and strictly follow all the instructions of the trainers. He also advised them to imbibe the qualities of leadership and initiative in life and asked them to keep the environment neat and clean and desist from throwing polythene and other things that pollute the environment. During the five-day long adventure trip (trekking camp), these students shall trek through places of importance including Bardal Khurd, Ghai, Khadwani, Shama Devta Shrine, Shiven Di Kheri Temple etc. They shall also take part in cultural, sports and other recreational activities under the guidance of team of officials. Trophies and Medals are also awarded to participants by Sarpanch also. The prominent among others present on the occasion were Ramesh Chander, Pritam Lal, Rajesh Kumar, Jagdish Raj Sharma, Vijay Tangra, Vikram Jamwal, Rinku Kumar, Suram Singh Choudhary, Darshana Devi, Rita Rani, Sushma Devi, Staff of GHS, Samah and other officials of DYS&S Department of Zone Akhnoor. |
