Special winter camp organized by GDC Kalakote concludes | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KALAKOTE, Dec 20: NSS unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Kalakote in collaboration with the Department of Environmental Sciences and EBSB to commemorate "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" started a seven days special winter camp on 13th of December, 2021 and that came to an end today on 20th of December 2021. In this camp volunteers of the college followed all SOPs and COVID-19 protocols. This camp was organized under the guidance of Principal GDC Kalakote, Dr Romesh Kumar Gupta with the message of cleanliness of water bodies and the surroundings as a part of clean India campaign. Presiding over the valedictory function, Principal GDC Kalakote said that the NSS plays an important role in serving the society and inculcates various moral and social values among the youth. He also appreciated the NSS volunteers for showing enthusiasm and zeal in the camp and spreading awareness in the society. Cleanliness is next to Godliness, he added. Presenting the seven days special NSS camp report, NSS Programme Officer Priyanka Kumari said that during the seven days camp NSS volunteers visited Chainpur river, Tattapani hot spring, participated in poster making, slogan and essay writing competition. NSS volunteers also displayed their talents during the program and also done beautification of the college campus. HOD EVS Vrinda Sharma also congratulated the NSS volunteers on the successful completion of the camp. She also added that role of youth can't be ignored in shaping the country. Without the active involvement of youth a society cannot flourish and such camps are helpful in their overall development. The students of college undertook an extensive one-week cleanliness of water bodies and surroundings. The programme was concluded by vote of thanks given by Pooja Rana. On this occasion all teaching faculty and non-teaching members were present. |
