| Dogri recognition day celebrated at GCW Parade Ground | | |

JAMMU, Dec 24: A function was organized by the Dogri department of Government College for Women, Parade Ground to commemorate Dogri recognition day. In the cultural programme chief and special guests were President Dogri Sanstha Jammu, Prof. Lalit Mangotra and a prolific Dogri writer, multi-talented Rajeshwar Singh “Raju” who is serving as senior executive in J&K Bank.
The programme was organized under the mentorship of Principal GCW PARADE, Dr S P Sarswat whereas the coordinator, convener and organizer of the programme was the national yuva sahitya Puraskar awardee and HOD of Dogri Department of the College Prof. Ganga Sharma.
Prof. Ganga laid stress on the fact that this function does not belong to the persons who are studying and teaching Dogri Language whereas this function belongs to all the Dogras residing in the Jammu region and Dogras must celebrate this as a State festival like we celebrate Republic and Independence days as national festivals.
The students from all the streams delivered speeches, performed cultural songs and entertained the gathering by doing a ski. Prof Lalit and Rajeshwar showered praise on Prof. Ganga on motivating the students from all the streams in the college to organize such a cultural event to promote the Dogra culture and Dogri language.
