After Aug 5, 2019 business in Jammu has ended: Raghunath Bazar shopkeepers tell Azad | ‘BJP led Govt has crippled traders; scrapping Darbar Move last nail in the coffin’ | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 24: Former J&K chief minister and senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad on Friday visited Rahgunath Bazaar here to know about the problems being faced by the traders. The businessmen informed Azad that there has been a severe slump in business after August 5, 2019—when the Cent're announced its decision to abrogate J&K’s special status and divided it into two union territories. “The Bharatiya Janata Party led government has crippled the businessmen of Jammu. The scrapping of Darbar Move practice has hit us hard,” shopkeepers told Azad. They informed him about the losses they have suffered due to “anti-Jammu” decisions taken by the present dispensation. “After August 5, 2019, business in Jammu has ended and many of us are looking for other avenues, our staff strength has depleted due to the slump we are facing. Many people have become unemployed as they have wound up their businesses,” shopkeepers informed Azad. “No one from the administration has even tried to reach out to us. The government has taken all the decisions unilaterally,” they said. |
