| ADDC chairs Road Safety Committee meeting | | |  Early Times Report
KISHTWAR, Dec 24: Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Sham Lal today chaired a meeting of the District Road Safety Committee to discuss the formulation and implementation of the District traffic management Action plan.
Discussion was held on the formulation of district traffic management plan on rational basis besides to declare some zones as non-traffic zones to avoid the congestion in the market places. During the meeting, the ADDC stressed on putting in collective efforts to mitigate the road congestion in the Kishtwar township and urged the concerned officers to maintain interdepartmental coordination to minimize the road congestion and traffic mismanagement.
On the issue of decongestion at Main Bus-stand Kishtwar, the ADDC directed ARTO to take measures to relocate the Padhyarna,Paddar and Galhar bound passenger vehicles from the non-traffic zone alongside the main market to Main Bus stand for free flow of traffic on this stretch of the national highway.
The enforcement departments were asked to ensure use of entry and exit points at the main bus stand to avoid unnecessary hassle.
Laying special stress on the checking the illegal operation of the tour and travel agencies in the district, the ADDC asked the ARTO Kishtwar to expedite the process of the verification as per the guidelines issued and to weed out the illegal operators.
