| Pancheri-Moungri observe shutdown while demanding separate assembly constituency | | |  Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Dec 24: Pancheri and Moungri tehsils observed a peaceful shutdown as news from some unspecific sources spread that the area was excluded from the newly proposed assembly constituencies by the Delimitation Commission. Many leaders, civil society and other such groups started raising issues like the area lags behind in development, has no higher education institute and many of its areas are yet to get electricity. Water scarcity problem, remoteness of many areas, lack of road network, poor communication facilities, poor health facilities etc were other issues raised by still other stake holders to support their demand of separate assembly constituency for the area. All the business establishments were shut and vehicles remained off the roads in Pancheri due to shutdown. The roads wore deserted looks reminding the days of COVID lockdown. At some places sporadic protests and leaders addressing small crowds were also seen with discussing the separate assembly constituency demand. |
