GDC Darhal organizes Invited Talk on ‘Cyber Crime’

RAJOURI, Dec 24: An Invited Talk on the theme ‘Cyber Crime’ was organized by NSS Unit of Govt Degree College (GDC) Darhal in which resource person was Prof. Deepak Gupta, Head Department of Computer Sciences, GDC Marheen. In his highly informative deliberations Prof. Gupta talked about Cyber Stalking, Phishing attack, Password attack, SQL injection, Virus, Malware, Hackers, Denial of Service attack and also exposed the purpose of motivation for cyber-attack. He also threw light on sources of cyber threats and highly structured cyber threats.
He motivated the students to keep confidentiality of all their passwords and IDs. He said that need of the hour is Cyber-security for all the digital devices. Principal of the college, Prof. Sumanesh Jasrotia thanked the resource person for providing useful information to the students of the college regarding cyber-crime and cyber security.
He said that such type of invited talk will act as an eye opener for creating awareness among students regarding the most dangerous online threats and will make them more alert and active.
Finally a highly impressive vote of thanks was done by Dr. Ahsan Ul Rehman Rizvi, Senior Faculty member of the college, who also motivated the students to secure themselves and their families against these cyber-attacks.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr. Ather Aziz Raina, NSS Programme Officer of the college, who told that besides other students of the college, 100 NSS volunteers also attended the highly informative lecture on cyber-crime and cyber security. Others present on the occasion were Dr. Imtiaz Hussain Shah, Prof.
Mahmood, Dr. Riaz, Dr. Mukhtiar, Dr. Javaid, Maawish, Farzana, Monica, Safeer, Avez, Jameel Ahmed and Saddam. The programme was attended by a large number of NSS volunteers and students of the college.
