| Man injured in bear attack in Pancheri | | |

JAMMU, Dec 26: A 50-yr-old man suffered serious injuries when he was attacked by a wild bear in hilly Pancheri belt of Udhampur district in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said here on Sunday.
Police said that a man identified as Govind Ram was attacked by the wild beast this morning outside his house in village Jinori of tehsil Pancheri.
"The police team along with locals shifted the seriously injured man to the Primary Health Centre, Pancheri from where he was referred to the District Hospital Udhampur," police said.
They said that he had received serious injuries on his leg.
Police said that the department of wildlife assisted by their teams have started to make people aware about staying alert as wild animals come to the plains especially during winter season due to snow on higher reaches. |
