LJP extends support to Yuva Rajput Sabha's agitation | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 9: Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) (Ram Vilas) on Sunday extended full support to Yuva Rajput Sabha's call for agitation which will be launched from tomorrow for declaring holiday on Maharaja Hari Singh Jayanti, Dogra Youth activist shall actively participate in the agitation." Addressing a press conference Rafiq Mailk, president LJP J&K Unit said that LJP extended support to demands of Rajput Sabha and also demanded a government holiday on the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh, who merged Jammu and Kashmir with India. Malik said that people of Jammu are demanding this holiday since long but it is a matter of regret that many years have been passed yet this demand not fulfilled. Malik further said that Maharaja introduced the infant marriage Act and Untouchability Act to safeguard the people of this princely state. It was only because of Maharaja Hari Singh, the High Court was established and his judicial advisers were appointed as the judges. The accession of J&K with India was also possible because of Maharaja Hari Singh. He said that now Article 370 and 35A have been abolished from Jammu and Kashmir, therefore, the Lieutenant Governor should declare a government holiday on the birthday of the Maharaja. Malik also appealed to the LJP cadre to come in large numbers at the protest site and stand shoulder to shoulder with Rajput Sabha. |
