Kishtwar administration requests Pawan Hans chopper service for airlifting of stranded passengers | | | ASIF IQBAL NAIK Early Times Report KISHTWAR, Jan 9: In a significant development, the administration of Kishtwar district has asked private chopper service provider Pawan Hans for airlifting of stranded passengers of Marwah and Warwan areas presently under several feet of snowfall beside both the areas are presently cut off from the rest of the country due to road blockade. As per the details available with Early Times, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Nodal Officer Heli Services Kishtwar vide letter number DCK/HSK/2022/165-67 Dated: 9-01-2022 address to Deputy Director, Tourism. Nodal Officer Heli Services Jammu made a requisition of Pawan Hans Chopper to fly in Kishtwar sector on 10/01/2022 by 8:30 AM. For airlifting the stranded passengers/patients/ students/old aged from Kishtwar-Nowpachi-Kishtwar (10 sorties), Kishtwar-Inshan-Kishtwar (one sortie). "It is to intimate that passengers including patients/students & old aged persons are stranded at Kishtwar and Marwah/Warwan. Therefore, you are requested to take up with Pawan Hans PVT limited to arrange 10 sorties from Kishtwar to Nowpachi & back, 01 Sortie from Kishtwar to Inshan & back today on 09-01-2022 & 10-01-222 urgently on subsidized scheme," reads the letter adding that the sortie wise manifest will be shared separately, but due to bad weather, the copper services could not be pressed into services due to bad weather today- however as per preliminary reports, the weather prediction for tomorrow has been predicted as "sunny". As per the officials, this requisition shall be treated as landing permission also. "The travelling passenger does not belong to VIP,VVIP Category as per the civil aviation requirement section 3, ser. C. part-A and can travel in single engine helicopter" the order further maintains. |
