Corona Tsunami: Daily caseload jumps from 22 to 292 in ten days in Jammu district
1/10/2022 1:22:01 AM

Jammu, January 9
Jammu-the winter capital of the Union Territory (UT) is facing Corona Tsunami because the daily caseload in the district has jumped from 22 to 292 in just 10 days.
On December 29, 2021, only 22 fresh Corona cases were reported in the Jammu district. On January 9 this number has jumped to 292. During the last 24 hours, 687 positive cases were reported in all the ten districts of Jammu and Kashmir. Out of these cases, Jammu district alone recorded 292 cases which is a warning signal.
Ten-day ago total active positive cases in the Jammu district were 255 but today this number has swelled to 1230.
On December 29, the Union Territory of J&K had recorded 104 fresh positive cases. Out of these cases, only 22 were reported from the Jammu district, which was below 20 percent of the total cases.
Today J&K recorded 687 fresh cases, out of which 292 cases are reported from the Jammu district only which is 42.50 percent of the total cases in one day.
Keeping in the available health infrastructure in the Jammu region, the swelling of positive cases has created a fear among local residents. During the deadly second wave, Jammu had witnessed the total collapse of the health system and the highest rate of death in the different institutions.
During the peak of the second wave, some patients even failed to get beds in the hospitals and there were allegations of shortage in oxygen also.
