Bench Press & Dead lift Championship concludes at Domana | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 18: J&K Sports Power Lifting Association organized Bench Press and Dead Lift Championship at Raipur Domana today. The sports event was managed under the patronage and supervision of Narinder Singh Manhas in which Uday Bhanu Chib, President J&K Pradesh Youth Congress (JKPYC) was the chief guest. The championship witnessed huge participation with all the participants exhibiting full enthusiasm, zest and zeal to win medals in the event. A large number of people of the area had come to witness the weight lifting event and cheered the participants to boost their confidence. The senior bench press man title was won by Ipul Singh while the senior dead lift power lifting man title was won by Shiv Charan. Meenu Kalotra won the junior strong woman Bench Press and Dead Lift challenge and junior Bench Press Power Man title was won by Sushant Mandla. Chib distributed medals and certificates among the winners of the respective weight categories in presence of Narinder Singh Manhas and other dignitaries on the occasion. Chib said that sports is must for overall personality development of every individual. He said that it is not just your body that benefits from sports, but playing sports contributes to mental health, helping to prevent depression and increase self-esteem and body image. He said that individuals who participate in sports might also benefit from the social aspect, developing friendships with teammates and feeling part of a group.
