| Bootlegger arrested, huge quantity of illicit liquor recovered | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, Jan 18: Continuing its war against smuggling and sale of illicit liquor, a surprise naka was established at Ghordi area for checking of vehicles by Police team of PP Ghordi headed by PSI Rythm Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Ramnagar Dr. Bhishm Dubey.
During checking of vehicles and pedestrian, Police party stopped one bike bearing registration no. JK14G 1460 for checking.On frisking of the rider of said bike, 100 quarters (180ml each) of Desi Special Whisky were recovered from his possession.
On enquiry the bike rider disclosed his name as Sunil Sharma, S/o Teerth Ram R/o Nagrota, Panjgrain, Ramnagar, who was arrested on spot and 100 quarters of illicit liquor were also seized.
In this connection, a Case FIR No. 06/2022 U/S 48(a) Excise Act was registered in PS Ramnagar and investigation of the case was going on. |
