| GDC Chenani organizes poster making, slogan writing competition on World Wetlands Day | | |

JAMMU, Feb 2: Government Degree College, Chenani organized a poster making & slogan writing competition on WORLD WETLANDS DAY 2022 & showcased a movie, “Bird watching at Gharana Wetlands” under the agesis of its NSS unit, science club, IQAC & Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with the aim to raise national & global awareness about wetlands for people & planet.
The programme was organized by the Environmental Science Club to highlight the theme of 2022 World Wetland Day under the guidance of Principal Dr. Pragya Khanna. She said the main objective of the programme was to sensitize the students about the existence of wetlands and to encourage them to creatively express their views on the issue of wetland preservation. The students of the college showed active participation in the programme & prepared posters & slogans.
They also showed their eagerness & excitement during the movie show about ‘J&K Wetland Gharana Conservation Reserve in the R S Pura sector. The participants were judged by Bharti, Department of Botany and Dr. Mohammad Yousuf Rather, Department of Environmental Sciences. |
