SRINAGAR, Feb 2: The dilapidated condition of the roads in Kashmir valley has added to the duties of the traffic policemen since they can be seen filling the ditches and pot-holes that have come up on long stretches of these dilapidated roads.
Early Times has learnt from sources that some traffic policemen posted in different areas of Kashmir valley have taken up the task of discharging the duties that were supposed to be carried out by the works department. These traffic cops could be seen filling the ditches and pot-holes that are present on the dilapidated roads.
The traffic cops could be seen armed with spades and shovels in different areas of the valley while filling the ditches and pot-holes that have made their presence felt on the dilapidated roads. This action is no less than an embarrassment for the works department and one can hope that the department officials get awakened.
