JAMMU, Feb 2: A webinar on cyber crimes under 'Jagrookta Diwas' was organized today by the Department of Physics of GGM Science College Jammu, in virtual mode, under the patronage of Principal, Dr. Ravender Kumar Tickoo and under the supervision of HOD Physics, Prof. Ravi Kant Sharma and guidance of Cyber Crime Jagrookta Coordinator Dr. (Capt.) Anjana Sharma.
The guest speaker Er Sunil Kumar Sharma, NIELIT, Jammu, delivered lecture on "Authenticated social media and wifi Passwords etc, Do's and Dont's on Social Media, Internet Emails". He emphasized on the need of using strong passwords, ensuring safety on social networking profiles (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube), Mobile Devices while downloading and using net banking accounts and lastly calling the right person for help, if you are a victim. He also enlightened the students with the various password cracking Techniques and types of passwords attacks by quoting real life examples.
The welcome address was given by Cyber Crime Jagrookta Coordinator and Prof. Ravi Kant Sharma, HOD, Physics Department. The formal introduction of the speaker was given by Dr. Sanjeev Goswami from Physics Department. The webinar ended with the vote of thanks by Prof Sahil Bangotra. More than 170 students participated along with the faculty members from the Physics department attended the event. |
