| Mandi-Poonch residents hold protest against PDD for negligent death | | |

JAMMU, Feb 5: A consolidated worker of Power Development Department (PDD) got electrocuted and lost his life at Mandi in Poonch district. The residents of the area staged a protest against the incident and blamed the department for the negligent death.
The residents said that the transformer in the area is open without any fencing adding that the same leads to disaster. They said that this is the second death due to the non-fencing of the transformer adding that repeated pleas with the concerned officers in this regard have not been heeded to.
The residents said that the department should immediately carry out the fencing of the transformer adding that the same would lead to safety of the people especially those who are called in to correct the faults in the transformer. |
