Centre has not asked UT administration to withdraw posts: Union Minister | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 5: As the dictatorial anti-youth decision of the Union Territory government evoked strong reactions from cross-sections of the society, the ruling BJP today put the responsibility of the J&K administration for “betraying thousands of educated youth”. “We have not given any direction to the J&K government in this regard”, Union Minister and Lok Sabha member from Udhampur-Doda constituency Dr. Jatindre Singh said while replying to the question of reporters at Jammu. Dr. Singh, who is Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, said that as far as Union Government is concerned J&K government has given directions only on setting merits on the basis on written tests to check malpractices in recruitments. “As far as the decision of the J&K government to withdraw all posts advertised before October 31, 2019, we are not aware of it”, the Union Minister said and added, “It is better to ask UT administration on this issue”. As reported earlier, the spokesman of J&K BJP and former president of Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association president Abhinav Sharma has termed this decision as “unconstitutional” and “inhuman”. Sharma minced no words in attacking the administration for taking such an unwise decision. He said that challenging this decision in the court of law will be the last option. “Bureaucracy does not want a popular government in J&K. J&K is facing through a translation face and bureaucrats are taking benefits of this period”, he said. Meanwhile, the dictatorial decision of the UT administration evoked a strong reaction from different political parties. Congress leadership has already smelt a deep-rooted conspiracy in the decision to deprive recruitment opportunities to local youth. Working president of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Raman Bhalla has announced to launch an agitation on this issue. Meanwhile, the general secretary of the Apni Party Amrit Malhotra criticized the J&K government for withdrawing the order of the posts which were referred to the J&K Public Service Commission and Services Selection Board before October 31, 2019, for recruitment. Addressing a press conference Malhotra raised serious questions on the withdrawal of the advertised posts which were referred to the J&K Public Service Commission and J&K Services Selection Board for recruitment. “The decision to withdraw advertised posts was taken by the Govt in an arbitrary and theocratic manner pushing the unemployed towards the darkness,” he said. |
