Pushp Vatika celebrates Basant Panchmi | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 5: Basant Panchmi is celebrated on the fifth day (Panchmi tithi) of Megha month on the Shukla Paksha as per the Hindu calendar. Basant Panchmi falls on the fifth day of the bright lunar cycle. The festival got its name from 'Basant' which means Spring and 'Panchami' which means the fifth day of Megha Maas. Mostly people wear yellow dresses on this festival. The teachers of Pushp Vatika also wore yellow dresses. Pushp Vatika, Jeevan Nagar celebrated Basant Panchmi today in its school premises. At last, prayer was offered by Headmistress which was also joined by all the teachers of Pushp Vatika for the peace and prosperity of whole nation and prashad was served to all present over there by the Headmistress. |
