Schools to reopen, night curfew lifted in J&K | Attendance at indoor gatherings increased to 50% of authorized capacity | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Feb 13: Amid the Covid-19 cases continue to decline in the Union Territory, the authorities have ordered that all schools in the summer Zone in Jammu and Kashmir will open in a phased manner while in the winter zone off lines teaching for all classes will commence after February 28, 2022. The administration has also lifted night curfew from the Union Territory. Official sources said, all Universities, Colleges, Polytechnics, ITIs, etc. will commence routine offline (physical attendance) teaching after ensuring readiness for enforcement of Covid Appropriate Behaviour and Standard Operating Procedures from February 14, 2022. They said, all Summer Zone (Kashmir) Schools in J&K shall open in a phased manner. Classes from 9th to 12th can commence routine offline teaching from February 14, 2022. However, the Winter Zone (Jammu) Schools of J&K shall commence offline teaching for all classes after February 28, 2022, they added. The off line mode of teaching for remaining junior classes in summer zone schools will began from February 21, 2022, the official said. All the students in the age group of 15-17 will attend the school with a vaccination certificate, they said and added, the head of the institutions must ensure that the guidelines related to the social distance and Covid Appropriate Behavior (CAB) are strictly followed. There would be a daily screening of the students at the entrance gate of the institute, they said. Coaching centres for civil service/Engineering/ Neet etc. are permitted to adopt offline mode of teaching subject to condition that both the faculty members as well as students are fully vaccinated and head of these centres ensure due precautions such as CAB and adherence to SOP. Admin lifts night curfew Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir State Executive Committee on Sunday lifted the night curfew across the Union Territory. The SEC also increased attendance at indoor gatherings to 50 per cent of the authorized capacity against the previous 25 per cent, while cinema halls, theatres, restaurants, clubs, gymnasiums and swimming pools were permitted to function at 25 percent of the authorized capacity with due precautions. |
