Instead of jobs, unemployed dental surgeons get batons | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 14: In a major act of high-handedness a posse of Jammu & Kashmir Police personnel appeared on the Tawi bridge near the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh and arrested unemployed dental surgeons who were carrying protest in support of their demands. This morning scores of unemployed dental surgeons appeared at the protest site and started carrying out protest in support of their demands. They alleged that since 2008 no post of dental surgeon has been created in the Jammu & Kashmir union territory and as such these professionals have been pushed to the wall. The protesters raised slogans against the administration and said that the present dispensation is taking steps against the interests of the youth of the union territory. The dental surgeons were joined by some activists of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and a strong protest was carried out on this occasion. As the protest was going on a group of Jammu & Kashmir police personnel appeared on the scene and swooped on the protesters. They caught the protesters by the collar and dragged them like anything. The protesters were whisked away in a police bus and there was melee on the busy road. |
