PAGD to meet next week in Srinagar | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Feb 17: The People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) is meeting in Srinagar on February 26 to discuss the draft proposals of the Delimitation Commission and also other issues related to Jammu and Kashmir. The spokesman of the PAGD MY Tarigami said the meeting will discuss the present prevailing situation in J&K. PAGD is an alliance of several mainstream political parties including the National Conference, Peoples Democratic Party, CPI(M) and Awami National Conference. The PAGD, headed by NC President Farooq Abdullah, seeks the reversal of the abrogation of J&K’s special status. A leader of the PAGD said a threadbare discussion would be held on the Delimitation Commission’s second draft, which has been already rejected by the mainstream parties. The PAGD is likely to release a white paper after the meeting. "We have prepared a white paper which will be put before the public after the meeting. It contains everything about (erstwhile) state pre and post 370 abrogation. It also has an economic section which explains how far we have gone economically down," said a PAGD leader.
