'Babu Raj' in J&K has given deadliest blow to development: Harsh Dev | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 22: With J&K Assembly having been suspended in June 2018 and subsequently dissolved in the same year, the continued bureaucratic rule in J&K has caused immense dis-enchantment among the general masses deprived of popular rule for the last three years. Having hardly any access to the outside bureaucrats ruling the roost, the people of remote and far-flung areas were the most disappointed lot with none to listen to even the basic problems of connectivity, Education, Power and drinking water faced by them, said Mr. Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP and former Minister. He was addressing public meetings in various villages including Ghordi, Badotu, Badela and Nordarn of District Udhampur. He also inaugurated the Panthers Party office in Ghordi town. Describing the draft report of Delimitation Commission as motivated and full of bias, Mr. Singh said that it had created huge embitterment in the hearts and minds of people in both regions of the UT. He said people of Jammu region who had been demanding equal Parliament and Assembly seats vis-à-vis Kashmir region were a completely demoralized lot. Most disturbing aspect was retention of mere two Parliamentary seats for Jammu region with two of its districts also having been annexed with Anantnag seat falling in Kashmir region. Besides out of 16 reserved seats for SCs and STs, 13 fell in Jammu region thereby reducing the share of General category seats in Jammu region. Several areas which fell in Reserved category seats for the last 27 years since the earlier delimitation of 1995 had again been made part of Reserved seats creating massive outrage in the concerned areas, Harsh divulged.
