| Wah ray development! Blacktopped road wears off within a year | | |  Early Times Report
Nowshera, Feb 22: The road which was blacktopped nearly one year ago by the Public Works Department (PWD) at Dabad Potha Panchayat (B) has worn off triggering resentment among the people.
Residents while talking to a local news channel said, “The blacktopping wearing off within a year proves beyond doubt that sub-standard material was used to construct this road. Today you don’t even find a trace of the blacktopping which was done.”
“When this road was being constructed we had requested the contractor and concerned PWD officials to ensure that the material used to build it should be upto the mark at that point of time the contractor told us that he is duty bound to maintain it for five years. But after the blacktopping was completed we didn’t see him,” they said.
Residents urged Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to order a probe to ascertain, who are the officials who approved the road and got the bills of the contractor cleared. “We are suffering as this road is not in motorable condition,” they added. |
