Fraudster arrested for duping man | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Feb 25: J&K Police on Friday arrested a man who allegedly duped a man in north Kashmir's Bandipora district under the pretext of helping him withdraw cash from an ATM. A complaint was received by police station Bandipora on Wednesday from Farooq Ahmad Mir a resident of Nadihal Bandipora stating that an unknown person fraudulently exchanged his ATM Card while he was at ATM in Bandipora and had withdrawn an amount of Rs 30,000 from his bank account. Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered and investigation was initiated. "During the course of investigation, few suspects were zeroed in with the help of technical support and subsequently identification parade of the suspects was held. During the identification parade, one suspected person identified as Khalid Ramzan Mir of Kaloosa Bandipora was marked by the complainant," a police statement said. "During questioning of the marked suspect, he confessed to have committed the crime. On his admission, an illegally withdrawn cash amount of Rs 23,000 and two ATM cards were recovered from his residential house," it added The accused has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody. |
