| PDD implements shutdown as summer sets in | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 6: The summer season may have set in the Jammu division, but it has not made any difference for the Power Development Department (PDD) since the Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) has announced a shutdown from today up to March 9.
The shutdown schedule as drawn up by JPDCL has come in for sharp criticism from the people and they say that in the name of maintenance and repairs the PDD is putting the people of Jammu to trouble on regular basis. The department has asked the people to finish their works, jobs and assignments well before time so that they do not face any problem.
The common masses have said that the maintenance as well as repairs needed to be carried out during the winter season when they can tolerate the shutdown of few hours for some days. They said that their problems are compounded when the power shutdown is announced and implemented during the summer season. |
