Golden opportunity for students of J&K to avail 100% scholarship in BFGI: Dr. Dhaliwal

Jammu, March 13: Baba Farid Group of Institutions (BFGI), Bathinda, a leading institution of India, is providing employment oriented quality higher education to the students. The campus comprises of an Engineering College, a Management College, a Degree College and an Education College providing Undergraduate and Post Graduate level education in various streams. The BFGI has always taken unique initiatives for the upliftment of society through the spread of education.
During a press conference here Dr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman BFGI said that almost every section of society has suffered from Corona Pandemic. Hence realizing its responsibility Baba Farid Group of Institutions is providing an opportunity to the students to secure scholarship through Scholarship Eligibility Test (SET). The BFGI SET-22 will be conducted through online mode on 3rd April, 2022 at 4 p.m. for the students who have passed or appearing in 10+2 Examinations. This will enable them to earn up to 100% scholarship for complete duration of programme of study, as per their choice, while seeking admission in Undergraduate (UG) Programmes in Engineering, Management, Science, Commerce, Agriculture and Humanities. The amount of scholarship which can be obtained by an individual candidate through this test is up to Rs 4 lacs. A total sum of Rs. 5 Crore shall be granted as scholarship under various schemes and policies of BFGI. Further elaborating on this Dr. Dhaliwal said that this test will be of 30 minutes duration consisting 40 questions. There will be no fee to appear in the test. He said that keeping in view the Covid-19 guidelines, this test would be conducted through online mode in which students from different states of India as well as other countries can participate. The scholarships would be available for those candidates who will score at least 60% marks in this test, students who will score higher marks would get more scholarships. The students who secure 100% marks in BFGI SET-22 will get scholarship of full academic fees throughout their study for their preferred course, which means they will pay no academic fees while study. The students who will secure marks from 95% to 99.99% will be awarded 50% of scholarship of the academic fees for complete duration of the programme and so on for other categories.
Dr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal said that BFGI has always been committed to provide quality education. Maintaining this commitment even in difficult times like COVID-19, BFGI has made significant strides in various fields, which is directly benefiting the students. The institutions have given special attention to research and have retained good number of research oriented faculty. These faculty members are creating special interest of research among the students and other faculty members. Due to these efforts the institute is playing a leading role in the field of research among the colleges of Punjab. The organization has so far filed 25 patents. The target is to increase this number to 100 during 2022. Last year, BFGI has applied for 21 research projects worth Rs 6.5 crore.
He said that the placement department has been working tirelessly to provide jobs to the students for the year 2021-22. These efforts have resulted in record placement of students during the current year. The students of the institute have been selected up to an annual package of Rs 13 lakhs and many of the students have been placed on an annual package of Rs 10 lacs. Further efforts are being made by the placement department to provide quality jobs to every students.
The BFGI has laid special emphasis on creating the job providers rather than job seekers. To fulfill this goal the Baba Farid School of Entrepreneurship- An Incubation Centre has been working with full determination to provide full assistance, guidance and support to build an ecosystem for budding entrepreneurs. Many startups came up in the recent year to fulfill the aspirations of Startup India initiative being run by the Government of India. There are many other Academic Support Systems available in the campus. He appealed to the students and their parents that Scholarship Eligibility Test 2022 is a golden opportunity for the deserving students and they can make their dreams come true by getting 100% scholarship. Free registration for this test has started and the last date is 31st March, 2022.
