Jammu, Mar 19: The local people of Keshwan area in Block Thakrie in Kishtwar District express their resentment and anger towards the dilapidated condition of the High School building as a result of which the students including girls were subject to miseries beside put the life of the students as well as the staff to risk. As per the details available with Early Times, the High School Keshwan was established in 1960 and the school get new building some 20 years ago and with the presage of time the school get additional rooms and the construction of three toilets within the school premises along with a kitchen shed, all are defunct as well as not worthy to live in. Speaking to Early Times, the local said that the school had three rooms for around 50 students along with two teachers who are working in the school added that the building has developed cracks as well as it roof suffered massive damages as a result of which the blue sky could be seen easily while sitting inside the office room of the school. The locals further said that they have complaint to local administration and concern department several time with regard to dilapidated condition of the school building, but nothing was done to repair it added that the toilets are non functional as a result of which the girls studying in this school are facing lot of problems while at the same time the kitchen shed established for cooking midday meal is also in poor condition and it is not feasible to sit inside it and to forget to cook any food for the children inside this government establishment. The people urged upon the LG government and the local administration to visit the school beside to take necessary precautions and steps to safeguard the life of the students studying at High School Keshwan. |
