Three ex-MLAs, half a dozen BJP leaders in touch with AAP
3/23/2022 11:24:10 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 23: After the historic victory of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the recently concluded assembly elections in the neighbouring Punjab, many prominent politicians of Jammu and Kashmir, especially the Jammu region, have established contact with the leadership of AAP to explore the possibility in this part of the country.
Highly placed sources said that three former MLAs of Jammu province have established contact with some senior AAP leaders at Delhi. “It is too early to say anything but one thing is clear that some senior politicians have opened a channel of communication with AAP leadership to explore possibilities”, sources said.
Sources further revealed that some BJP leaders, especially corporators of Jammu Municipal Corporation and some recently elected members of the District Development Councils (DDCs) of the party, are in touch with the AAP leadership.
After the party has allowed the entry of senior politicians from other parties many BJP leaders have lost hope of getting mandates in the coming assembly elections so they are exploring possibilities in other parties.
With the constitution of urban local bodies and setting up of three-tier Panchayat Raj institutions in J&K, a second-line leadership has developed within BJP during the last couple of years. This second-line leadership is exploring other possibilities in the coming assembly elections.
Although AAP has started its working in Jammu province, the party leadership is looking for big political faces to give a boost to its activities in this part of the country where the party is hopeful of creating space by replacing Congress.
