Helpless BJP leaders
3/27/2022 11:54:50 PM

Another BJP leader and former minister Sukhnandan Kumar has accused the present dispensation in Jammu and Kashmir of not listening to anyone and working according to their whims and fancies.
Sukhnandan is not the first BJP leader who has publicly castigated the administration for its failure to do its job. In the past many local BJP leaders have come out in the open and alleged that the bureaucrats don’t listen to them and are not accessible to people.
Bureaucrats not listening even to BJP leaders and former ministers prove it beyond doubt that the people handling J&K don’t want to listen to anyone. If the same trend continues the BJP may face an uphill task in the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. The people are angry as everyone believes that it’s the BJP which is ruling the Union Territory.
Sukhnandan hit out at the divisional administration in Jammu region for its alleged failure to carry out the desilting and repairs of canals and it will affect the paddy sowing activity across the Jammu division. He raised a genuine issue as it touches the skin of a common man in Jammu. But one needs to ponder upon the fact that why did he raise the issue through the media. He could have easily approached the administration and conveyed his displeasure and concern. But instead he went public with his grievances.
The helmsmen need to take note of the resentment that’s brewing within the Union Territory, especially in the Jammu region. They need to ask themselves why are people angry? Why are they so annoyed and worked up? Is this the change they were promised? There are so many things which have gone wrong. The local BJP leaders have also apprised the party high command about the anarchist approach of the people at the helm. The Centre has taken a note but the bureaucrats seem to be taking everything casually.
The local BJP leaders are trying to tell the people that they too are not being heard and they too are helpless. But the question is, are people ready to believe that BJP leaders don’t have a say or they are just trying to gain sympathy to seek votes.
