Irony! Deposit blood at SMGS then only your patient will get blood
> No CCTVs allow pickpockets to call shots

Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 27: The blood bank at SMGS hospital here doesn’t provide blood to needy patients till their attendants arrange a donor to replace the blood point needed by them.
An attendant of a patient whose sister-in-law was admitted in the hospital while talking to a news channel said, “The baby of my sister-in-law died in her womb but she was not provided with the treatment till I arranged the blood point which might have been needed to save her life. I paid Rs 70000 to one person to donate blood and when it was deposited in the blood bank after that treatment started.”
He said, “She is recovering now and we may be discharged in a day or two but the blood point I had arranged was not needed as she responded to the treatment. I am a poor man and had to pay through my nose to arrange the blood.
My simple question to the SMGS officials is that if the blood bank can’t help the patients in need then what’s its use. Many people like me deposit blood in the hospital and at many occasions it’s not used. Can’t the blood bank help the needy patients by providing the blood which remains in store?” he asked.
Another attendant said, “Pickpockets took away Rs 20,000 from my pocket in the hospital. When I approached the police post which is close to the hospital with my complaint they told me that nothing can be done as there are no CCTVs installed in the area where the theft took place.”
