| Illegal extraction of sand goes on unabated at Halmulla in Anantnag district | | |  Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Apr 1: Despite stern warning by the Department of Irrigation & Flood Control department and Geology & Mining department extraction of sand goes on unabated at Halmulla-Sangam in South Kashmir's Anantnag district.
The locals of the area said that the sand diggers have not take the directive seriously and as such they are carrying out illegal extraction of the sand from river Jhelum in the Halmulla-Sangam area. They have raised an alarm saying that if there is some flood the whole area would be inundated. They demanded intervention from the people at helm in this regard so that the practice is stopped. |
