Srinagar, Apr 2: Anti Corruption Bureau arrested a Village Level Worker, Rural Development Department in Kashmir for accepting a bribe. The ACB said Sahil Sagar, VLW Block Paran Pilan, Uri in Baramulla district was demanding a bribe from a local resident for processing his case under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) scheme. ACB said a resident of Bandi Gujjar Basti, Uri alleged that Sahil demanded Rs 20,000 as bribe from him and had already paid Rs 13000 on March 29, 2022. The official was demanding the remaining Rs 7000 from him. “On this the complainant approached ACB . Consequently, a case was registered at Police Station ACB Baramulla and investigation was taken up,” ACB spokesman said. “During the course of investigation, a trap team caught the VLW red handed while demanding and accepting bribe from the complainant. He was arrested on the spot by the ACB team,” he added. The bribe money was also recovered from his possession in presence of independent witnesses.
