No road connectivity, health centre lead to mother losing her child | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 11: A woman from Basholi village in Kathua district lost her newly born child on way to hospital as there was no health centre in her village and there was no motorable road that could take her to the health facility. According to details available with Early Times, woman, Neetu Devi, wife of Hemraj developed labour pain. In absence of road connectivity her family members and villagers tried shifting her to the hospital in a town on a cot but she delivered the baby on the way to the hospital. The neonate died before the mother and child could reach the hospital. Locals said, “There is no health centre in our village, nor there is a motorable road. If anyone falls sick we shift him/her to the town in a stretcher. Till date we have witnessed many such incidents wherein precious lives have been lost.” They said, ‘Even after 70-years of Independence the government has not been able to come up with a health facility and a proper road in our area. Tall claims of development are nothing but a hoax.” |
