Jammu Police cracks lady's murder, arrests hubby among 2 | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 13: Police have arrested two persons and solved the murder case of a woman in Akhnoor area here in the city outskirts. Police on Wednesday said on March 26, information was received that one un-identified female body was lying at Bhagwana Chak in suspicious circumstances. "Since the circumstances leading to her death were suspicious, therefore, to ascertain the cause of her death an inquest proceeding under section 174 Cr.PC was initiated," police added. During the course of enquiry, FSL team and dog squad team were called on the spot and the deceased was identified as Daleep Kumari, wife of Basant Shaw, resident of Chhattisgarh, presently living at Baba Talab, Kanachak. Based on technical inputs and statements of experts, it come to fore that deceased had died due to strangulation following which a murder case was registered, police said. Station House Officer, Police Station Akhnoor, Hilal Azhar said based on technical inputs and statements of relatives, it came to fore that deceased was married to one Basant Sahu since seven to eigth months. A matrimonial dispute going on between the deceased and her husband, he said adding, "the husband was rounded up and he confessed that he alongwith his friend Dinesh Sahu of Chattisgarh planned to kill his wife and on March 25, the duo went to Bhagwana Chak at Jourian and strangulated the lady to death." Both the accused persons were arrested and on their disclosure, some seizures were also made by Police corroborating the incident. The investigation was carried out under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial and over all guidance of SP Rural, Jammu Sanjay Sharma and SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli.
